2015 was the third consecutive year G&I managed the summer fete on Northcote Road, in Battersea. In 2015 the date of the event changed to ensure it coincided with the Wimbledon Men’s Final, which now takes place one week later than usual, in July.
- Host a day of family friendly fun for all the community to enjoy.
- Drive footfall to the event and promote its sponsors, participants, attractions and features.
- Raise the profile of Northcote Road, a destination shopping street in South West London.
From booking 150 stalls for the visiting market, to selling every sponsorship deal, to producing a 24 page magazine promoting the event and coordinating all participants, content, compliance and suppliers, this project requires the full range of in-house services at G&I. Social media, PR and media partnerships with Nappy Valley Net & Runwild Media, organised alongside print & distribution, building a multi-channel campaign, which has seen the value of the principal sponsorship place double over three years. The increased budget, meant the event features were able to be developed, including an even bigger, better screen for the crowds to watch the tennis and the return of favourite fairground rides, such as the Astro Glide, which saw adults, children and even Police Officers sliding down its 70ft yellow kamikaze lanes.
The fete welcomed record footfall, sponsors reported positive response rates, market stall holders enjoyed good sales in every section of the event, and visitor feedback was very complimentary. G&I enjoyed our time as the event managers of the Northcote Fete, the St John’s Hill Festival, the Fab Feast, the Ritherdon Road Street Party, Bellevue Road Summer & Christmas Fairs. These collaborative projects brought together businesses, organisations, charities and the local community – yet would not have been possible without the guidance of the Clapham Junction Town Centre Manager, Lorinda Freint, and the support of Wandsworth Council, sponsors and media partners.
G&I no longer provide Event Management services, although we do organise a festive event every year – if you would like to find out more about the White Christmas Fair, please contact us – we’ll be happy to hear from you.
