In 2012, Gertrude & Ivy worked with Brickwood to open their first venue, a typically cool Australian coffee shop and the first of its kind in Clapham.
As a new business, the Brickwood strategy included brainstorming the name, inspired by textures inside the venue – particularly the original railway sleeper bar and table tops. The brand colours were inspired by their now iconic green coffee machine, carried through to their coffee cups and interior. We delivered a full range of integrated marketing services to build the brand, and created all assets including the website, menus, business cards & external signage.
Brickwood coffee and bread is a much loved corner of Clapham. The concept proved so strong, the business has subsequently opened two further venues in Balham and Tooting. The venue has won several awards, including the Lambeth Business Award “Best Place to Eat & Drink 2014”.
