Starter for 10 with Kitti Edwards
We are pleased to welcome Kitti Edwards to the G&I team in the role of Events & Marketing Executive. After a few months as a G&I girl, we realised Kitti’s infectious energy and capacity of thought are hard wired inside a brain sprinkled with glitter. Kitti is an excellent addition to the team and always has plenty of interesting and thoughtful things to share, so we asked 10 questions to our new starter.
Kitti Edwards of Cheltenham, under what circumstances did we meet?
I had my feet in my pond at home and called the Gertrude & Ivy offices to ask if there was any space for a girl like me on the team. A few days later I had an interview, and started the following week. Unfortunately I arrived on my first day, riddled with a kidney infection (my body is prone to such annoyances) but the G&I team tucked me under their wing and I soon settled in and was better in no time.
In one sentence please explain: What are you like?
Creative, loyal, curious. My colleagues have added that they think of me as a “happy dork”.
In two sentences please explain: Why are you like this?
I blame my family entirely for my characteristics – we are very close and they are the most marvellous, hilarious and honest people you’re ever likely to meet. I can’t blame anyone but myself for my lack of sense of direction – it is spectacularly bad – in my second week at G&I, I managed to get lost on Clapham Common!
In 5 words, what is the definition of a G&I girl?
Honest, hardworking, passionate, committed and vibrant!
Why did you choose to work in Event Management?
I promised myself that I’d never work in anything that made me sad, and I know monotony makes me miserable. No two days are the same in events management and that’s exciting – it’s one of those jobs which throws things at you constantly and pushes you to think fast and learn faster!
Why did you choose to work at G&I?
G&I is a small company, grounded with honesty and loyalty, sprinkled with joy, creativity and local loveliness. I’d like to hope these characteristics run parallel to my own – the company is incredibly loyal to its clients and staff, something I admire ever so much.
What is your connection with Beyonce?
Idol / object of my obsession / topic of my dissertation / life goals?
Which is your favourite Beyonce song & why?
Upgrade U, for no other reason that it makes me feel fierce… (in a good way!).
What is your poison?
Definitely dark rum – mix it with coke, lemonade, rum, lime, juice or…rum?
Do you have anything to add?
Working here, I spend most of my day laughing.. and that’s amazing.
