New Starter for 10: Jazmine Rocks
This month, we are very pleased to welcome Jazmine Rocks to team G&I, in the role of Social Media & Marketing Executive. Jazmine writes and runs her own fashion & lifestyle blog, and joins us from Cath Kidston, via Tatty Devine.
We asked 10 questions to our new starter, to introduce her to you:
Jazmine Rocks of SW London, under what circumstances did we meet?
My first contact with G&I was in 2013 – Heather emailed me to ask if I could shoot a couple of pictures for a food client, after spotting my photography on my blog. With the offer of free food and a chance to make connections, of course I said yes. A few weeks later, I made a gentle enquiry about joining the team, but it was full! After a few years of following each other on Twitter, Emma Jane and I met for dinner. A few months later, here I am at G&I!
What are you like?
Honest, loyal, imaginative and sentimental – they tell me I wear my heart on my sleeve.
Why are you like this?
Being an only child and growing up surrounded by a loving, creative and close family have certainly played a part.
Why did you choose to work in Social Media?
I started my blog in 2010, so being active on Social Media came with the territory. While working part time as a Sales Assistant & Visual Merchandiser at Cath Kidston, a role came up to be the Marketing & Events Assistant at the new Flagship store. The job was so ‘me’ that within my first week I knew I wanted to forge a career in Social Media.
Why did you choose to work at G&I?
G&I have always been on my radar, they have a style of working which really appealed to me. I love the look of their Social Media training – the idea of teaching and inspiring others, along with building strategies and supporting brands, sounds right up my street.
William Morris. Discuss.
Over the years, I’ve become a bit of a ‘Morris Magpie’ – I have notebooks, cushions, bedding, candles, mugs and even clothes in his prints!
What is your poison?
What song gets you dancing?
Work From Home by Fifth Harmony!
Describe a G&I girl in 5 words.
Driven, passionate, spirited, proactive, creative.
Do you have anything to add?
A big thank you to Emma Jane, for seeing the G&I girl in me. I’m so excited to be part of the team!
