Instagrammer of the Week – The Body Coach
Following from Emma Jane’s Instagram post earlier this week, my thoughts have been with my favourite social network (we’re allowed a favourite yes?) So this week, I’m turning my spotlight onto my ‘Instagrammer of the Week’.
There are some brands who nail their content on Instagram, equally many individuals get the tone and quality of their posts just right and of course it proves hugely successful for them.
My Instagrammer of the week certainly set out as an every day individual, but I think he is well on his way to establishing his own brand – solely through the power of Instagram and the fun, informative and inspirational content with which he populates his feed.
Introducing – Joe Wicks – The Body Coach.
Joe is a local south west London personal trainer, who only started Instagramming last year and now has 19k followers – quite impressive work Joe.
His success on Instagram has been thanks to his series of #LeanIn15 meal-prep videos. In his own unique style, from his own kitchen, Joe prepares healthy, nutritious and damn tasty meals all condensed into a 15 second clip on Instagram – hence the hashtag.
And they work, along with an achievable exercise plan! Joe peppers his feed with before-and-after shots of his clients who have found success on his plans, which certainly helps to prove his credibility as a personal trainer.
But it’s the #Leanin15 videos that have really worked the magic for Joe. The hash-tag has been inherited by many of his clients and followers, who have gone on to create and post their own recipe videos, with the best ones being featured by Joe himself – boom user generated content success.
His use of hashtags, whilst a bit excessive at times, has helped propel him into a position of influence in the fitness and healthy eating sectors, which has led to brand partnerships with the likes of Total Greek Yoghurt and Lucy Bee Coconut Oil – both brands that feature heavily in Joe’s recipes and now syndicate his recipes across their own profiles.
Joe’s success is simple, he is offering a straight forward, simple message. Eat well, exercise, look good. But it’s the delivery that has worked so well for him, full of passion, enthusiasm and most of all personality.
Fitness and health may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but Joe has proven that posting with personality despite the message goes a long way – raise a smile and you will stick in people memories….
