Gertrude & Ivy to open Battersea pub
Gertrude & Ivy has been at the forefront of digital marketing and event management in Wandsworth for over two years, and although we will still be providing these services, we’ve decided to diversify into a new strain of business.
We’d like to announce to you that we have purchased a pub in our our heartland of Battersea, and named it after our company.
The reason for this change is a small chain of events which seeded the idea. After winning best business for Social Media and Marketing at The Wandsworth Business Awards last year, we were erroneously awarded this certificate below, which sent our thoughts and ideas into overdrive. Why wouldn’t it be possible for Gertrude & Ivy? Fortunately now we have made this dream a reality.
The Gertrude & Ivy is an intimate venue which will serve a range of beers, wines, cocktails and spirits, as well as a traditional selection of bar snacks and light bites. We’re also proud to present two specially brewed craft beers which will be served when The Gertrude & Ivy opens at the start of May: The Dirty Gerty and Poison Ivy.
Head chef, Emma Jane Clark, will serving up a selection of quadruple-fried chips, microwaved Scotch eggs and our signature Doughnut Dogs – that is a frankfurter-style sausage served in a deep fried sweet roll.
Senior account manager (and sous chef) Heather McKay said: “I’m delighted to be a part of this bold endeavour by Gertrude & Ivy – we have big things planned for this new venture and we hope it can be as successful as our marketing and event management services.”
Intern and head mixologist Jessica Griffiths, said: “I used to concentrate on the marketing mix, but now it’s all about vodka.”
The Gertrude & Ivy’s doors will open from Thursday 1st May from 12pm-10pm daily.
…. APRIL FOOLS!
